Representative Pathways

 

All Randwick MGW players regardless of grade are eligible to try out for the Randwick Representative team to contest the State Championships. Further information on selection process will be provide by the Randwick Rep Convenor in the near future.

 

Key Stages of the Pathway (Boys & Girls)

1. Club & District Level (Introductory):

   • Players start by playing for their local SJRU club.

   • U10s: First rep experience at District Gala Days (e.g., U10 Gala Tournament) after playing club games.

   • U12-U18s: Progress through District teams to State Championships (e.g., Sydney Cups).

2. State Level (NSWJRU):

   • State Championships: Top players from District teams compete.

   • SJRU Representative Teams: Three teams selected (Red, Blue, Barbarians) to play in Regionals.

   • NSW Country Teams: NSW Country (CRU) also selects teams at this level (Black/Gold).

3. Regional & National Level:

   • Positive Rugby Foundation Regionals: SJRU & CRU teams play trials.

   • Selection for Higher Honours: Finalists are selected for the Sydney U14/U15/U18 team

• s and NSW Country teams.

• National Championships: NSW Juniors teams (e.g., U18 NSW Juniors XV, U18 Barbarians) compete at national events like the Australian Schools & Junior Rugby Union Championships.
